I mean, other stuff happens, but these books always leave me feeling They’re just about people being people and what it means to be people and caring about one another. I like to call them warm hugs from space. ![]() The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers – This entire series is so very lovely. I’m really looking forward to the series! An angel and demon teaming up to stop the end of the world? And it’s just so cleverly done. Good Omens by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett – This is one of my favorite books of all time. I like the way this series blends the whole post-Armageddon thing with law school…so much fun. But demons are strictly regulated so if they are caught violating laws they can be taken down. There are angels as well, but there is a sort of truce. Demons now roam as it’s become literal hell on earth. It takes place far in the future post apocalypse. □ĭark Light of Day by Jill Archer – I’m a fan of this series. Eventually a huge epic story unfolds and it got really fun. Maas – The first couple of books in this one were a bit meh for me but I kept reading them because they were like candy. I still remember how magical it was the first time I read the first HP book, even though I was probably way too old for it. Rowling – I mean, this one has also become a classic. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone by J.K. Her male characters do tend to be very alpha male which is something I find myself avoiding these days in romances, but I still love these books. She writes a lot with ghosts/time travel through fairy rings, etc. Lynn Kurland was one of the first romance authors that I glomped onto back in the day and I love her books. Stardust of Yesterday by Lynn Kurland – Ok, so this one is a romance novel, but the main dude in it is a ghost so it counts. I always empathize so much with characters that have a yearning to be loved. Carey – I love this book so much! This was one I binge read in a single day and I cried reading it near the beginning. But, the reason this one is on here is I love the werewolf stuff in this volume in particular, especially between the two werewolf cousins. It took a turn for the weird at one point but I stuck with it and then book 10 came out and I still haven’t read it because it’s the last one and I heard it ends on a cliffhanger. Roadkill by Rob Thurman – Ah, I used to be completely in love with this series. And as for the new ones coming out, well, at least you can’t say they’re formulaic anymore! Interview With the Vampire by Anne Rice – it’s a classic! I was kind of obsessed with these books back in the day, before they got kind of formulaic. Talk about a book featuring the creatures listed, wee! This book tag was originally created a few years ago by Katytastic. I saw this one over at Another Book in the Wall and thought it was such a fun tag, especially for October, so couldn’t pass it up. ![]()
